Checkpoint Product Highlights
iCMORE Prohibited Items
New automatic object recognition software
iCMORE Prohibited Items uses artificial intelligence-based algorithms to automatically detect objects on the aviation prohibited items list that are determined to be a security risk at airport security checkpoints. With certification, such algorithms could lead to a more automated screening process which would enable alarm-only viewing of X-ray images at airport passenger checkpoints.
The new HI-SCAN 6040 CTiX Model S is a smaller footprint version of its successful, security operator preferred, Computed Tomography (CT) passenger checkpoint scanner. It offers advanced screening using CT and automatic explosives detection algorithms. Due to the considerable reduction in size and weight, it is easily integrated at airport checkpoints with size and layout limitations.
The new fully Automated Tray Return System (ATRS), iLane A20 has evolved from our extensive experience in integrated checkpoints to meet the most demanding customer requirements. It was developed for high throughput, reducing queues, and improving operational efficiency at aviation passenger checkpoints.
The HI-SCAN 7555 DV offers superior image quality, automatic explosives detection, and a compact footprint. It increases operational efficiency by eliminating the need to re-position or re-scan objects. The advanced dual view X-ray screening system is ideal for high-throughput environments such as airport checkpoints.
CT technology is taking passenger checkpoint screening to a completely new level. As well as delivering the highest standards of security, the energy efficient HI-SCAN 6040 CTiX and HI-SCAN 6040 CTiX Model S meet the demand for increased productivity and lower operating costs.

Hold Baggage Case Study
Sydney Airport trials CT-based Hold Baggage System Solution in preparation to be regulatory-compliant
Australia’s busiest airport gets one step closer to Computed Tomography (CT) compliance with next-generation hold baggage screening system installed on a mezzanine platform.
Smiths Detection and GRASP Innovations to collaborate on technology integration
This collaboration is a part of Smiths Detection’s Ada Initiative that seeks to accelerate the adoption of open architecture (OA).
GRASP Innovations uses strategically placed sensors to provide data on passenger flows that allow for better resource allocation and, when used alongside Smiths Detection’s leading security screening equipment, will result in an improved passenger experience and operational efficiency.
Smiths Detection furthers Open Architecture acceleration with SeeTrue
Smiths Detection announced today that it is collaborating with SeeTrue, a supplier of artificial intelligence threat detection software.
Currently, Smiths Detection offers a wide variety of automatic threat detection algorithms that can be integrated into its X-ray screening equipment, and recognises that with an increasing choice of digital technology partners, customers should have the assurance that third party technologies operate seamlessly with our own devices.
Smiths Detection selected to supply India’s new Noida International Airport with advanced security and screening technology
Smiths Detection will supply both passenger and hold baggage screening equipment to help ensure safety and efficiency for passengers and operators.
Noida International Airport will be India’s newest airport using technology to provide quick, cost efficient and easy to use services to passengers, airlines and other airport partners.
Smiths Detection awarded the contract to upgrade New Zealand’s airport checkpoint security
